About Dr. Steven J. Seage
I’m Dr. Steven J. Seage — an educational researcher, program evaluator, and data strategist who works at the intersection of research, practice, and leadership. My work focuses on helping school systems, leadership teams, and organizations use data to make informed decisions, improve outcomes, and drive meaningful change.
My career began in the classroom, where I taught elementary students for nearly a decade and served as an Instructional Team Leader. That experience continues to ground my work today — ensuring that research and data remain connected to the realities of teaching and learning.
I earned my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Educational Research and Evaluation, and since then have expanded my work across district, university, and organizational settings. I currently support districtwide initiatives at Broward County Public Schools, where I lead and contribute to program evaluations, data systems, and research-practice partnerships that inform policy and strategic decision-making. I also serve on the Superintendent’s AI Task Force, exploring responsible and innovative uses of AI to support schools and educators.
In addition to my district work, I teach graduate-level courses in statistics, research methods, and educational leadership at Florida Atlantic University and Barry University. Through this work, I support educators and aspiring school leaders in developing the skills needed to interpret data, apply research, and lead effectively in their own contexts.
Across all of my roles, I focus on translating complex data and research into clear, actionable insights. This includes building data systems and dashboards, designing rigorous evaluations, and supporting leaders in using evidence to guide decisions and improve practice.
I’m always interested in connecting with educators, leaders, and organizations committed to improving outcomes through thoughtful, evidence-based approaches. Whether through research, evaluation, or leadership support, I bring a combination of academic rigor, practical experience, and systems thinking to every partnership.
